Mahvash Roshani

Mahvash Roshani joined New Day Secondary School as Principal in March 2025, bringing with her more than three decades of diverse professional experience and a strong background in educational leadership, institutional development and administration.
An accomplished educationist and school leader, Mahvash has served in senior leadership positions at some of Pakistan’s leading educational institutions. She served as Principal of Lahore Grammar School from October
2004 to November 2009, The City School from December 2009 to September 2012, and Dawood Public School from October 2012 to November 2021. She also served as Principal of Dawood Public School’s A Level College from November 2019 to November 2021. Joining Dawood Public School when its student strength was approximately 1,500, she played a pivotal role in its growth, helping raise enrolment to 2,500 students, while strengthening academic excellence, co-curricular programmes and staff development.
Her educational background combines a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy with a postgraduate qualification in General Management (MBA). She began her professional career in Pharmacy in 1986 and, after five years, transitioned into administration and subsequently into education, which became her true professional calling. Her academic foundation, together with her extensive leadership experience, enables her to bring both a structured management approach and a deep understanding of teaching and learning to the institutions she has led.
Her professional journey also includes significant experience with international organisations. She served with UNHCR as an Education Counsellor, FAO as an Administrative Officer, and IUCN as Coordinator, Advocacy and Communications, contributing to development and community-focused initiatives, particularly in Balochistan.
Mahvash began her career in education as an O Level teacher at The City School, Quetta, developing a grounded understanding of teaching, curriculum, assessment and student development before progressing into senior leadership. Throughout her career, she has focused on strengthening institutional systems, developing policies and procedures, enhancing curriculum, mentoring and training teachers, and creating meaningful opportunities for student growth and empowerment.
Her leadership is characterised by vision, integrity, strategic thinking and a strong understanding of people. One of her key strengths is her ability to recognise potential and bring out the best in teachers, students and those she works with. She has consistently fostered motivation, confidence and self-belief, while encouraging collaboration and valuing the contribution of parents as partners in education.
At New Day Secondary School, Mahvash is committed to building on the school’s strong foundation and creating an environment where every child is known, valued and encouraged to fulfil their potential. She has undertaken extensive professional development throughout her career, with training spanning educational leadership, active learning, management, communication and institutional development. Her professional development includes the Cambridge Active Learning Professional Development Course, Cambridge Schools Conference (2015), Leadership and Management Program (LAMP) at The City School, and Effective Communication Skills at LUMS, alongside specialised training through IUCN, LEAD Pakistan, UNDP, FAO and the Pakistan Press Foundation.

Rubina Karim Khan
Academic Coordinator | New Day Secondary School
Rubina Karim Khan has been an integral part of New Day Secondary School since November 2004, beginning her journey with the institution as a Montessori Directress. Over the years, her dedication, commitment and extensive experience in education have enabled her to take on increasing academic and administrative responsibilities, leading to her current role as Academic Coordinator.
Prior to joining New Day Secondary School, Rubina served as a teacher at several reputable institutions, including Mama Baby Care, Prince Garden School and Bright Star Grammar School, gaining valuable experience in teaching and working with young learners.
In addition to her responsibilities at New Day Secondary School, she currently serves as Chairperson of the Sultanabad Religious Education Centre, reflecting her commitment to education, community development and the holistic development of children and youth.
Rubina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in International Relations. Her academic qualifications, coupled with more than two decades of experience in education, make her a dedicated academic leader committed to fostering quality education, supporting teachers and creating a positive learning environment for students.

Shahid Abdul Aziz
Senior Accountant | MBA (Finance & Accounts)
Shahid Abdul Aziz is an accomplished finance and accounts professional with over 20 years of experience in accounting, financial management, procurement, inventory, and administrative operations in Pakistan and Tanzania. He has been serving as Senior Accountant at New Day Secondary School since December 2021, overseeing financial records, payroll, bank reconciliation, financial reporting, audit support, and accounts supervision.
He holds an MBA in Finance & Accounts from PIMSAT and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Karachi. His professional training includes bookkeeping, taxation, purchase management, Microsoft Office, and computerized accounting software such as Tally and Peachtree.
Known for his integrity, analytical ability, professionalism, and commitment to quality, Shahid contributes to sound financial practices and the effective administration of the school.

Fareeha Rizwan
Front Desk and Admissions Officer
An organized, responsible, and dedicated professional with a Bachelor of Arts and extensive experience in student admissions, fee management, and front-desk operations. She has 6 years of experience at The Educators, 5 years at Iqra University School System, and 1 year at The Smart School. She has been working at New Day Secondary School since August 2025, handling front-desk operations, student admissions, fee management, and communication with parents and students. She is committed to providing efficient, courteous, and professional support while contributing to the smooth functioning of the school.

Hafsa Ghaznavi
Teacher | Islamiat
I hold a Master’s degree in Islamic Learning, with minors in Psychology and Education, complemented by training in Daycare, Montessori, and Event Management.
With 8–9 years of teaching experience, including four years at New Day Secondary School, I have taught Islamiyat and Urdu for the past three years. I am a dedicated and adaptable educator with strong skills in teaching, student counselling, event coordination, workshops, and administrative responsibilities.
Passionate about child development, moral education, and character building, I believe in nurturing students academically, socially, and personally while helping them develop confidence, discipline, and strong values.

Saira Jameel
Teacher | Mathematics
Saira Jameel began her teaching journey at New Day Secondary School in 2023, where she has grown professionally while developing a strong passion for teaching. She holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics, which enables her to explain mathematical concepts with clarity and confidence.
Over the years, Saira has developed skills in classroom management, understanding students’ individual needs, and creating engaging learning experiences. She strives to make Mathematics simple, interesting, and enjoyable while encouraging students to participate actively and build confidence in their abilities.

Sadaf Tanveer
Teacher | Biology, English & Pakistan Studies
Sadaf Tanveer is a dedicated educator with over eight years of teaching experience in Biology, English, and Pakistan Studies. She holds an M.Sc. in Entomology and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Zoology from the University of Karachi, with her H.Sc. from Sir Syed Government College for Women and S.Sc. from Federal Secondary School.
Her professional experience includes curriculum development, laboratory and practical teaching, assessment, classroom management, academic coordination, and technology-integrated teaching. She also actively contributes to academic competitions, seminars, educational events, and mentoring
educators, demonstrating strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Fluent in English and Urdu, Sadaf brings enthusiasm, subject expertise, and a student-centred approach to New Day Secondary School, supporting students in achieving academic excellence while developing confidence and a love for learning.

Asifa Amir
Teacher | English
A dedicated and enthusiastic educator with a passion for teaching and learning, Asifa has been teaching at New Day Secondary School for the past one year, where she teaches English to Classes 3–6 and Class X. Prior to joining New Day, she taught English and Science at Crescent Bahria Cadet College. She is currently pursuing a BS in Biotechnology and is in her second year of study.

Urooj Baber
Homeroom Teacher | Beginners & Children’s Class
Urooj Babur holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Montessori Diploma from the Pakistan Montessori Council. She has been teaching Beginners and conducting Children’s Classes since April 2021.
A hardworking, dedicated, and sincere educator, Urooj has undertaken specialized training in conducting Children’s Classes, with a focus on nurturing spiritual virtues and positive qualities in young learners. She is deeply committed to creating a caring and stimulating environment where children develop strong foundations
for learning, character, and service. Through her thoughtful approach, she encourages children to carry these virtues throughout their lives and grow into compassionate, responsible individuals who contribute positively to their communities and society.

Afshan Shahid
Homeroom Teacher | Middler Class
Afshan Shahid is a dedicated and experienced educator with a Graduate degree in Arts and a strong background in primary and early childhood education. She began her teaching career at Gulshan-e-Fatima Primary School, where she served for three years, followed by one year at Nasra Public School and three years at Little Feet ECD & Primary School. During her time at Little Feet, she participated in various seminars and professional training sessions that enhanced her teaching skills and classroom practices.
She has been associated with New Day Secondary School for the past two years, where she currently serves as the Homeroom Teacher for the Middlers Class. With experience in both pre-primary and primary education, she has developed strong skills in classroom management, child-centred teaching, creative learning activities, and bilingual communication in Urdu and English.
Alongside her professional responsibilities, Afshan also contributes her time through volunteer service at Garden Jamat Khana, reflecting her commitment to community service and the well-being of others.

Urooj Fatima
Homeroom Teacher | Transitory Class
Urooj Fatima is a dedicated early-years educator with a 1-Year Diploma in Montessori from Global Montessori Coaching Institute (GMCI) and a 6-month Basic Montessori Course from Fatimiyah Montessori System, along with a Computer Course in MS Office.
With three years of teaching experience, including one year at Oxford Schooling System and two years at New Day Secondary School, Urooj brings warmth, patience, and creativity to her classroom. She applies her Montessori training through activity-based learning, active student involvement, and hands-on experiences,
creating an engaging environment where young learners are encouraged to explore, participate, and develop confidence.

Tabassum Mansoor
Homeroom Teacher | Grade 1
Tabassum Mansoor is a dedicated early-years educator with a Bachelor’s degree in Family Relations and Child Development and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED) from the Pakistan Montessori Council. With five years of teaching experience in reputed schools and participation in various professional workshops, she brings knowledge, warmth, and creativity to the classroom.
As a Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher at New Day Secondary School, Tabassum is passionate about creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment where
young learners feel confident, valued, and encouraged to explore. Her journey at New Day has been one of continuous professional growth, learning, and meaningful contribution.
Sabiha
Homeroom Teacher | Class II
Sabiha is a dedicated and passionate educator with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) qualification and an English Language Course. With three years of teaching experience across different schools, she has developed strong classroom management, communication, and teaching skills.
She has been a valued member of New Day Secondary School since August 2025, where she serves as the Homeroom Teacher for Class II. She is committed to creating a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment while contributing to the academic and personal development of her students and helping them achieve their full potential.

Nomana Tazeen
Teacher | Urdu
Nomana Tazeen is a dedicated and experienced educator with 32 years of teaching experience, including 19 years at New Day Secondary School, where she has taught Urdu at the primary level. Prior to joining New Day, she served for 13 years at Lady Mariam Adamjee Girls Secondary School, teaching Elementary Science and Islamiat.
She holds a B.Sc. with First Division and brings extensive classroom experience, commitment, and a nurturing approach to her teaching. Her long-standing service at New Day reflects her dedication to students and the school community.

Narmeen Nizar Ali
Teacher | Science and Chemistry
Narmeen, our dedicated Science and Chemistry Teacher, holds a BS in Microbiology from the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST).
She brings valuable hands-on laboratory experience from leading diagnostic facilities, Dr. Essa Laboratory and Diagnostic Centre and Alamgir Welfare Trust.
With strong skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and structured lesson planning, Narmeen makes complex scientific concepts engaging, interactive, and easier for students to understand.
Her teaching approach connects real-world laboratory experience with classroom learning, encouraging inquiry, curiosity, analytical thinking, and scientific reasoning.

Saad Asghar Ali
Teacher | Computer
Saad is a dedicated and technology-driven educator with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, graduating with top honors and specializing in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. He has been teaching at New Day Secondary School for the past year, where he inspires students to develop strong digital skills, creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
In addition to teaching, he has conducted programming workshops for both students and teachers, promoting practical learning and the effective use of technology in education. His passion for innovation, mentorship, and student development makes him a valuable addition to the New Day team.

Imtiaz Alam
Teacher | Mathematics
Imtiaz Alam holds a BS in Mathematics from the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology and is currently pursuing an MPhil in Mathematics from the University of Karachi, along with a B.Ed.
He joined New Day Secondary School in February 2025. A dedicated, responsible, and hardworking educator, Imtiaz is committed to helping students develop a strong understanding of Mathematics. He closely monitors their academic progress, identifies areas requiring improvement, and ensures timely follow-up and support. His sincere commitment to student
