History and Background:

Mr. and Mrs. Bakhtiari constructed in 1940 a bungalow for the temporary stay of Shoghi Effendi, Guardian of the Baha’i Faith when he visits India and gave it the title of HAPPY HOME. Unfortunately, the Guardian could not visit Karachi and desired that this bungalow be used as “Kudakistan” (children school). The Happy Home building remained a rented bungalow for more than three decades.

In March 1978 the School stared with a Montessori section with three Baha’i students and later on primary and secondary level was added and now this is tenth standard school with more than 40 staff members and over 700 students. This school has been registered with the Registrar in January 1987 as the ISFANDIARY BAKHTAIRI MEMORIAL EDUCATION SOCIETY.

In the year 1989 the School was registered and recognized by the Directorate of School Education Karachi under Registration No.DES/RD/R35 and recognized under by the Board of Education under recognition letter No. BSA/RECOG/3704/97 and every year students of New Day School appear in Matric examinations.

The first batch of this school appeared in Secondary School Certificate exams in 1990-91 and since then every year the school is producing 100% result.

The School has now grown from strength to strength from three students to over seven hundred students.

In August 2011 New Day School has been registered as Non-Profit Organization.
